We are committed to implementing the Child Safe Standards and provide a nurturing, and safe environment where children have opportunities to gain experience and develop at their own pace. Each child entrusted into our care is unique. We believe they are capable, competent co-contributors and acknowledge them as active participants in their own learning. We value the families, staff and wider communities’ diversity and cultural heritage.
We acknowledge the Aboriginal people the traditional owners of our land and recognise the significant role educators have in teaching children about Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their cultures.
Children learn best through play, discovery, experimentation, and active participation. Emphasis is on the learning process rather than the end product. Our educational curriculum is inclusive of all children and encourages them to reach their full potential. We implement this through quality interactions, play-based learning experiences, children’s interests, their voice and ideas, and encompassing intentional teaching and reflective practices.
We create an atmosphere that enables the development of children’s positive self-esteem, and pride in themselves. There is a focus on wellbeing and resilience so children can approach situations with confidence, skills, and enthusiasm. Children’s contributions are supported by the promotion of positive values of respecting ourselves, each other, and our world.
We support children’s development, learning, their transition to school and beyond from their first day of enrolment. We focus on social skills, emotional resilience, independence, problem solving, physical, literacy and numeracy skills.
Parents are the child’s first teacher. We strive for meaningful family participation to help families develop a sense of ownership and partnership with the staff and preschool. We collaborate with families to ensure the best outcomes for their children. We provide our families with advice, encouragement, and resources to support them in their parenting role.
The knowledge and commitment of our staff is valued, appreciated and supported with continued professional learning. Staff engage in open communication collaborating with each other, families, the management committee, professionals, and the wider community to achieve positive outcomes.
